With over 40 years of experience in international banking and finance, Mr. Lazaar has firmly established Swicorp’s reputation as an innovative provider of business solutions. Before founding Swicorp in 1987, Mr. Lazaar was Vice President of Citibank in North Africa and Europe, and part of the Citibank team that founded the Saudi-American Bank (Samba) in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Lazaar is also the founder of the Maghreb Economic Forum (MEF) and an advocate in the promotion of Arab art and culture through the Kamel Lazaar Foundation . Mr. Lazaar holds an MBA from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion in Tunis and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Tunis
From 1991 to 2007, Mr. Schenker developed a wide ranging experience in international investment banking at Swicorp, with particular specialization in M&A and capital market transactions in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Schenker held the CFO position. He became Group CEO from 2012 to early 2018, a position he resumed mid-2019. Mr. Schenker graduated from the University of Geneva with a Master Degree in Finance and Economics.
Mr. Rey joined Swicorp in 1991. He has gained a wide experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions, private placements and financial engineering. For a number of years, Mr. Rey covered non- GCC markets such as Egypt, Algeria and Turkey where he pioneered landmark transactions such as Danone and Henkel respective entries in Algeria. He then focused on GCC and KSA, handling some of the firm's large advisory accounts before rejoining the Private Equity and Investment Advisory division outside CMA’s scope. Mr. Rey graduated from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, with a Master degree in Finance and Economics.
Independent Board Members
Mr. Tariq L. Ali is a partner of Gulf Banking Consultants WLL (Bahrain), the Partner/CEO of Tapco Holdings WLL (Bahrain) and a board member of Dabbagh Group (Saudi Arabia) and Bidaya Home Finance Company (Saudi Arabia). Mr. Ali has extensive international corporate finance and banking experience, having previously worked as Group Head of Corporate Finance at National Commercial Bank (NCB) of Saudi Arabia, the largest bank in the Arab world, and 20 years with Citibank where he held various positions within the corporate finance area in the US, the Far East and the Middle East.
Dr. Al Shuaiby is the CEO of FNN Consultancy and the former Secretary General and CEO of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (2007 to 2018). Dr. Al Shuaiby has developed leadership and strategic management skills with a track record including positions at the U.S. Saudi Arabian Business Council, Qorvis Communications, Abu Dhabi Investment Agency (ADIA). Dr. Al Shuaiby holds a PhD degree in Leadership Administration from The George Washington University and Masters of Arts in Educational Administration from The American University Washington D.C. She also holds a certificate in Executive Education from The Harvard Kennedy School.
Mr. Bahareth is an Investment Director with Savola Group, a publicly listed strategic investment holding company. Mr. Bahareth has a multifaceted direct investment experience having worked previously in private equity, investment banking and audit with Alkhabeer Capital, Swicorp and KPMG Saudi Arabia, respectively. Mr. Bahareth holds a Master degree in Investment Management (with distinction) from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a participant in executive courses conducted by the University of Oxford and the University of Chicago.
Mr. Kwok rejoined Swicorp in early 2020 as CEO for Saudi Arabia, after spending 15 yers with the firm between 2000-2015. In the interim period, Mr. Kwok held the CEO positions at Emaar Middle East, Dar Al Arkan and Al Akaria Real Estate Development Company. Mr. Kwok's role at Swicorp is to lead the Saudi operations and drive its growth. Mr. Kwok graduated from Cranfield Business School with a MBA in Finance and Strategy.
Mr. Fattal joined Swicorp in 2007 after 9 years experience with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (“PwC”) of which six years were focused on deal advisory experience with PwC Transaction Services in London and Dubai offices including cross border buy-side and vendor due diligence engagements for international top tier private equity and corporate clients. At Swicorp, Mr. Fattal has been leading the firm's venture into renewable energy and infrastructure projects outside CMA’s scope. Mr. Fattal is a UK national, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds a BBA from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
Mr. Mughal joined Swicorp in July 2019. He is an asset management investment professional focused primarily on alternative investments with over 16 years of experience. Mr. Mughal has worked for 11 years in the Middle Eastern region, with organizations that included HSBC SA and ANB Invest and has been responsible for managing funds, originating transactions and capital raising. Hammad arrived in Saudi Arabia from Toronto, Canada where he led a publicly listed Real Estate Investment Trust and holds an MBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario).
